Overall Job Purpose

Reporting to the School Director, the position is responsible for providing leadership and management for the school while ensuring holistic transformation of the learners through provision of high-quality education, spiritual formation, basic health care and psychosocial support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure implementation of education strategies and program plans for the school.
  2. Oversee day-to-day running of curricular and co-curricular activities.
  3. Maintain academic and school records.
  4. Delegate duties and responsibilities among staff while maintaining supervision.
  5. Ensure staff are trained on curriculum changes and developments.
  6. Uphold professional ethics and discipline among staff.
  7. Set measurable performance standards for school operations.
  8. Monitor staff performance and provide feedback.
  9. Ensure Deputy Head Teacher checks professional documents.
  10. Support student recruitment and other administrative duties.
  11. Promote positive relations with parents, community, and stakeholders.
  12. Ensure effective communication with students, parents, and stakeholders.
  13. Champion the HPA brand in community and government forums.
  14. Ensure compliance with Children’s Act and HPA Child Protection & Safety Policy.
  15. Develop and enforce school rules and regulations.
  16. Ensure safety, security, health, and welfare of pupils and staff.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Education from a recognized institution.
  • P1 Certificate.
  • At least 8 years teaching experience, with 4 years as a Head Teacher in a high-performing institution.
  • Registered with the TSC.
  • Tech-savvy with strong ICT integration skills.
  • Experience in Competency Based Education (CBE).
  • Proficiency in English and Kiswahili (spoken and written).
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for holistic transformation of learners.
  • High level of motivation, integrity & commitment to Christian values.
